The 40 Years of Comics Project - Day 2002: Moriarty #1, May 2011

Just a short one today, though this comic was really quite excellent. It's the first part of a mystery story involving the one-time nemesis of Sherlock Holmes, fallen on hard times because, like it or not, he needed Holmes to keep him interested.

The story is cool, the art is wonderfully atmospheric. I really appreciated that when Moriarty went out in disguise, I could still always tell which character was him. That might sound like a little thing, but it speaks volumes of the artist's understanding of how comics work.

More to follow.
