The 40 Years of Comics Project - Day 147: Halo and Sprocket #1, April 2002 (Two Weeks From The Dollar Bin - Day 11)
The inside copy of this comic reads "Welcome to the FIRST issue of HALO and SPROCKET - The adventures of an angel and a robot who live with a girl!"
Honestly, if that's not enough for you to want to read the comic, you need to re-evaluate your life choices. Add to the awesome premise Kerry Callen's lovely art and some genuinely funny little stories, and I'm stumped as to how this found its way into a dollar bin. Further, I'm kicking myself for not getting the other three issues that were right there. A mission for another day, I guess.
So the comic really is as simple as the tag line. Sprocket is a robot. Halo is an angel sent to guide his development as an individual. Katie is the girl they live with. And now you know about as much as I do, as the stories are light on backstory and heavy on funniness.
Here's an interview with Callen, who apparently also works for Hallmark Cards.
See you tomorrow.
