Been a while since I needed a jump...

It's not that scandalous, I know, but you never know who's reading, and I don't want to offend.
Today's comic is a companion to the Erox published Blowjob, this series, which lasted an astounding 17 issues, exploring instead the delights of cunnilingus. The series itself is edited and produced by a bunch of guys, the editorial staff of Fantagraphics, but the comics are all by women, including today's featured creator Roberta Gregory, as well as one of my favourite erotic cartoonists Molly Kiely. It amused me a good deal that the first two stories, by the aforementioned creators respectively, were not only erotica but also education. There's diagrams and arrows and labels, so that the dudes who read this, if they're paying attention, will get really good at licking a vagina.
That said, Ms. Gregory's story (and Ms. Kiely's, for that matter) is not about teaching a man how to perform, but about a woman having oral sex with another woman because, ostensibly, she knows better what feels better than a man. The only man involved in the stories is the presumed audience. I'd be very curious as to the demographic breakdown of people who read this comic. The lead stories are by two prominent bisexual comics creators (though according to her wiki, Ms. Gregory does not identify that way necessarily). What are the ramifications of getting two queer women to write erotica for an ostensibly heterosexual male audience? I mean, this is one of the primary reasons both stories are pedagogical in nature, I guess. It's almost like the cartoonists are performing a public service.
As for Ms. Gregory's art, it's dynamic in a way I wasn't expecting. I've read a bit of her Bitchy work, but this story had the feel of animation - the lines of each character and position seem to waver slightly, giving the figures a nice sense of motion.
More to follow.

I reviewed one other issue of Head, worth reading if only for my quotation of some truly terrible dialogue.
But I've read an awful lot of stuff from Eros Comix for the project - you might almost think I like adult comics.
